Administrator: IBM Planning Analytics/Cognos TM1

Course Overview

Students will learn how to install and configure Cognos TM1, monitor system performance, and secure Cognos TM1 applications over one day. This will include Server health checks and dynamically monitoring Cognos TM1 server threads.  Security protocols such as identifying authentication options, assigning security rights to groups, customized business rules and remote server shutdowns will be covered. The prerequisites are:  experienced with TM1 and Microsoft Excel, ideally attended the Ender user and Rapid reporting training courses by Capital Analytics. Solid understanding of the metrics and drivers of your business.

Optimize Models and data structure

  • Model size, growth, performance
  • Improve cube performance
  • Scaling ‘out’ – multi-server configuration, mirror serves and performance.
  • TM1 Metadata model
  • Distinguishing databases: operational and reporting
  • Examine: fact tables, reporting data, dimensional tables, operational data
  • Identifying OLAP data structures

Prerequisites

Experienced with TM1 and Microsoft Excel.
Ideally attended the End User and Rapid Reporting training courses by Capital Analytics
